Resolution & Rules

Bet on whether NEAR's maximum annual issuance is actually below 2.5% on mainnet on Tuesday 6 April 2027. The cap is 2.5% today (max_inflation_rate = [1, 40], protocol version 86). A House of Stake draft to ramp it toward 1.6% was posted on 7 October 2026 and is not live: https://gov.near.org/t/hsp-xxx-establish-a-24-month-issuance-ramp-to-a-1-6-target-rate-of-near-token-emissions/42644

Resolution rules

Resolves Yes if the maximum annual inflation rate in effect on NEAR mainnet at the first block at or after 2027-04-06 00:00 UTC is strictly below 2.5%. Otherwise No. Source: the max_inflation_rate field returned by the NEAR RPC method EXPERIMENTAL_protocol_config for that block (anyone can check it on an archival RPC with block_id; today it returns [1, 40] = 2.5%). If the active protocol version sets the cap by a schedule or a renamed parameter instead, the cap that applies to that epoch per the nearcore release notes for that protocol version is used. The live protocol config wins over any announcement. A House of Stake vote, a ratified proposal, a released binary that validators have not adopted, or a cut that is scheduled but not yet in effect does not count. Trading closes around 2027-04-05 23:00 UTC.
